(Dan Tri) – British intelligence has commented on the reason why the Russian military has not conducted missile raids on Ukrainian targets in the past 21 days.

On October 13, the British Ministry of Defense published an intelligence report stating that Russia has not conducted long-range missile attacks on Ukraine in the past 3 weeks because the Russian Air Force is waiting to add missiles to its arsenal.

`Long-range aviation (LRA) aircraft of the Russian Air Force have not attacked Ukraine since September 21 until now, for a period of 21 days,` the report said.

He said that Russia had a pause from attacking Ukrainian missiles from March 9 to April 28, equivalent to 51 days.

During this pause, Britain said that Russia seemed to be preserving its AS-23 missile arsenal to increase its reserves to carry out even more powerful attacks on Ukraine during the winter.

In addition, British intelligence believes that Russia has recently focused on infrastructure airstrikes in Southern Ukraine using Geran suicide UAVs (the West and Ukraine suspect that Shahed Moscow bought from Iran).

Late last month, Andrii Yusov, an official with the Ukrainian Defense Intelligence Agency, said Russian forces were conducting reconnaissance of Ukrainian energy facilities seemingly with the aim of conducting raids on targets.

He emphasized that Ukraine is carefully preparing for the above developments and Kiev believes that Russia will not give up its plan to attack the target of Ukraine’s energy facilities.

`There is information that the enemy is carrying out reconnaissance activities on Ukraine’s energy infrastructure and is capable of repeating attacks against those targets,` he said.

In September, the British Ministry of Defense suggested that Russia would likely launch missile attacks on Ukraine’s energy infrastructure in the winter, just as Moscow did last year.

Earlier this month, Ukrainian Air Force spokesman Yuriy Ihnat said that in September alone, Russia used more than 500 Shahed UAVs in raids on Ukraine.

Since October last year, Russia has increased the intensity of its attacks on key Ukrainian targets with a large number of missiles and suicide drones (UAVs).

Ukraine and the West believe that Russia applied the tactic of raiding the enemy’s energy infrastructure in the cold winter to weaken Kiev’s morale and force Ukraine to make concessions.

Meanwhile, Russia then explained that its attacks were aimed at weakening Ukraine’s ability to send soldiers, weapons, and military equipment to the front lines.
