Guardian reported that the Israeli cabinet has approved activating Article 40 of the Basic Law, meaning an official declaration of war against Hamas forces.

`Last night, the Military-Political Cabinet approved a state of war and correspondingly launched major military operations. This move is in accordance with Article 40 of the Basic Law of the government,` Prime Minister’s Office said.

Israel does not have a written constitution, but has 13 Basic Laws that have equivalent functions.

The activation of Article 40 means that Israel is preparing to take `large-scale military actions`.

Previously, on October 7, not long after Hamas attacked territory controlled by Israel, Prime Minister Netanyahu said that Israel was in a state of war.

`All Israelis, we are in a state of war. We will win. The enemy will pay an unprecedented price,` Mr. Netanyahu said, referring to Hamas forces.

However, Mr. Netanyahu’s statement at that time was not official.

A state of emergency has been declared throughout Israel.

Outdoor gatherings cannot exceed 10 people, and indoor gatherings cannot exceed 50 people in these areas.

The moment Israel demolished a 14-story building in Gaza

On the morning of October 7, Hamas forces in Gaza suddenly attacked territory controlled by Israel.

Fighting over the past day left at least 370 people in Palestine dead and 2,200 injured.

The Israeli military also confirmed that Hamas is currently holding dozens of Israeli hostages including soldiers and civilians.

Guardian sources said that about 100 people, including women and children, may have been held hostage by Hamas and taken to the Gaza Strip.

The Israeli army said its planes had attacked a series of Hamas targets in the Gaza Strip, including an intelligence center.

The international community has called on all parties to exercise restraint and cease fire to avoid casualties and damage to the people.
