The New York Times quoted Israel Defense Force spokesman Jonathan Conricus as saying on October 9 that the Israeli army has mobilized at least 100,000 reserve soldiers to the South, near the Gaza border.

`The situation is still very tense. We have deployed 100,000 reserve soldiers in the South. These forces are ready to carry out the tasks the government assigns to the army. Our ultimate goal is to make Hamas

On the morning of October 7, Hamas armed forces in the Gaza Strip suddenly fired thousands of rockets into territory controlled by Israel.

The Israeli army immediately launched Operation Iron Sword in response to the attack by Hamas.

Israel today announced that it has regained control of all towns around the Gaza fence.

Israeli military spokesman Daniel Hagari said that fighting between this country’s soldiers and Hamas gunmen has decreased.

He said army tanks supported by drones and combat helicopters were protecting areas where Hamas forces had previously broken through fences and entered.

On the same day, Israeli military spokesman Richard Hecht also said: `We are continuing to fight. Fighting is taking place at 7 to 8 points around Gaza. We hope to be able to completely control the situation.`

Fighting over the past two days between Israel and Hamas has left more than 1,200 people dead, including more than 700 in Israel and about 500 in Palestine.

Reuters quoted a source close to Hamas as revealing that this force had carefully planned the attack against Israel.

During that time, Hamas still trained fighters even though in the past two years, Hamas has not conducted any military campaigns against Israel.

Analysts say the attack shows the failure of Israel’s intelligence operations.
