Reuters reported that on the night of October 9 and early morning of October 10, Israel continued its air strikes on the Gaza Strip, causing the ground to shake, fire and smoke rising thickly.
According to the Israel Defense Forces (IDF), the country’s air force attacked 1,200 targets in Gaza from October 7 to October 8.
The Israeli military said they targeted targets such as warehouses, weapons factories, and headquarters of Hamas forces and other Palestinian armed groups.
`The Air Force is conducting an unprecedented major air campaign against Hamas to erode and destroy this force’s ability to pose threats to the Israeli people,` the IDF said on Twitter.
Early on the morning of October 7, Hamas forces in the Gaza Strip fired thousands of rockets toward Israel in the largest scale attack in at least 75 years.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu warned yesterday: `What Hamas soon experiences will be difficult and terrible. We will change the Middle East. This is just the beginning.`
Fighting in recent days has killed more than 900 people in Israel and more than 700 Palestinians in the Gaza Strip.
The situation in Gaza became even more difficult when Israel announced it would completely blockade the area.
However, Mr. Volker Turk, United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights, emphasized that the complete siege of the Gaza Strip, blocking the supply of electricity and essential goods to the people is prohibited by international law.
Hamas raises conditions for releasing Israeli hostages
As for Hamas, this force plans to use the Israeli hostage group to negotiate the release of Palestinians and Arabs detained in prisons in the US and Israel.
`There are many Palestinians being detained in the US on charges of funding Hamas. We will request their release,` said Hamas force spokesman Ali Barakeh on October 10.
Mr. Barakeh also added that Hamas will seek to release all Arabs detained in Israel.
A spokesman for Hamas also affirmed that `militants are ready for all scenarios of conflict, including a prolonged war`.
According to Mr. Barakeh, since the conflict in the Gaza Strip escalated in 2014, Hamas forces have trained an army of their own and produced missiles to serve important campaigns.
According to Mr. Barakeh, the cause of the large-scale attack that Hamas targeted Israel last weekend stemmed from `the Israeli government’s move against the Al-Aqsa Mosque in the center of Jerusalem` and `pressure`.
