(Dan Tri) – Unpredictable challenges inside the Gaza Strip are said to be one of the reasons why Israel has not been able to launch a ground offensive campaign in this territory.

Israeli Foreign Ministry spokesman Emmanuel Nahshon said on October 24 that the country’s army was forced to delay the ground offensive campaign in the Gaza Strip due to concerns about potential `death traps`.
`We know that if we enter Gaza in the first days of the conflict, we will fall into death traps and that means Israel will suffer huge losses in terms of troops,` Mr. Nahshon
This diplomat said that Israel is taking time to increase the level of preparedness of its forces for this situation (death trap in Gaza).
The conflict between Israel and Hamas forces in Gaza flared up again on October 7 after more than 2 years of quiet.
Israel immediately responded with an unprecedented large-scale airstrike campaign.
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s government affirmed that Israel will definitely launch a ground attack campaign in Gaza, it is only a matter of when.
According to military analysts, the plan for a ground attack on Gaza has many potential risks.
First, when deciding to enter Gaza, Israel must be ready for urban combat operations.
Second, although the Israeli army has greater military potential, it will still face significant challenges created by Hamas, challenges from the `maze` of tunnels, and from the fleet of drones.
Third, the ground attack plan is quite risky because Hamas is holding more than 200 hostages from Israel and a number of other countries at various locations in Gaza.
American investigative reporter Seymour Hersh cited well-informed sources as saying that Israel is considering a scenario of flooding Hamas’s tunnel system before launching a ground attack on Gaza.
Israel has not commented on the above information.
Previously, well-informed sources said that US officials had persuaded Israel to postpone plans for a ground attack on Gaza, at least until all hostages were rescued.
Washington is concerned that the Israeli military has not yet outlined a clear military path to achieve the goal of `eliminating` Hamas as announced by Prime Minister Netanyahu.
