(Dan Tri) – Israel sent a large number of tanks near the Gaza Strip and on average opened artillery fire at the positions of Hamas forces every 30 seconds in response to last weekend’s attack.

AFP reported that Israel announced it would attack Hamas after members of this armed force raided the area controlled by Tel Aviv on October 7.

The `tit for tat` attacks over the past nearly a week have caused thousands of casualties on each side and continued to heat up the Middle East `pan of fire`.

Information from the scene shows that Israel has mobilized powerful forces, tanks and heavy armor to close to Gaza, and has bombarded this narrow strip of land with fire in the past few days.

In a statement on October 12, Israel said it had fired thousands of shells into Gaza since October 7.

According to AFP, on average every 30 seconds Israeli artillery attacks a target somewhere in the Gaza Strip controlled by Hamas.

Meanwhile, on the front lines, the Netivot and Sderot areas that Israel controls also became targets of rockets fired from Gaza.

`Soon, (Hamas) will have no one left to fight, to attack us,` said Tom, 24, one of 300,000 reservists Israel has deployed.

Tom said he moved from his home in Rishon Le Tzion near Tel Aviv to join a fighting unit near Netivot and Sderot, along with his younger brother Adam.

Israel has set up barriers to prevent the infiltration of Hamas forces.

Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant declared: `This is a war for our future. The Israeli army will eliminate Hamas. This will be a difficult and long war, but we will win.

Meanwhile, Gaza is facing a humanitarian crisis when it is `completely surrounded` by Israel, leading to shortages of electricity, water and basic necessities.

Hospitals in Gaza are overloaded and at risk of turning into morgues when they have to receive thousands of injured cases while the infrastructure cannot cope.

Before the war broke out, people in Gaza had lived under Israel’s land, air, and sea blockade for the past 17 years.
