(Dan Tri) – A senior Ukrainian official raised a scenario in which he believes the Hamas-Israel conflict could affect Western aid to Kiev in the war with Russia.

Responding to Ukrainian Pravda, head of Ukraine’s defense intelligence agency Kyrylo Budanov said the prolonged conflict between Israel and the Palestinian Hamas force could affect Western aid to Kiev in its war with Russia
US Secretary of State Antony Blinken arrived in Israel on October 12 and pledged to support the country following the October 7 attacks by Hamas.
Mr. Blinken pledged that Israel would have more ammunition to re-equip its air defense forces and said there was bipartisan support in the US Congress for more military support for Tel Aviv.
However, there are concerns that US and Western military support for Ukraine is starting to decline because of disagreements within Washington and budget constraints.
Mr. Budanov said that if the conflict in Israel ends within a few weeks, there is `nothing to worry about` about the future of Western military aid to Ukraine.
`But if the conflict drags on, there will obviously be certain problems with the fact that (the West) needs to supply weapons and ammunition not only to Ukraine,` he said.
Earlier this week, Western media said that US President Joe Biden’s administration may ask the country’s Congress to approve additional aid to Ukraine in the emergency aid package for Israel.
On the other hand, according to experts, the risk of a major war breaking out in the Middle East could force the US to make difficult decisions about which ally will receive Washington’s already limited ammunition supply.
To date, Washington has delivered more than 2 million 155mm artillery shells to Kiev to help repel the Russian army’s advance.
If the war in the Middle East lasts longer, the United States may be forced to choose allies to help, and Washington’s dwindling arsenal of artillery ammunition may have to be shared to support all sides, as well as having to
On the other hand, in the interview, Mr. Budanov accused Russia of seemingly being involved in the Hamas attack, but did not provide any evidence.
He said that Hamas’s use of UAVs to attack Israeli armored vehicles seemed to indicate Russia’s involvement.
`Since we are not there (where Israel and Hamas are fighting), it means it’s the Russians,` he said.
Russia has not commented on the above information.
